Aneesh Kumar is the chief product officer at Gainwell Technologies. In this role, he reports to the CEO and leads product strategy, solution design and portfolio management for the entire company. He oversees a team of more than 2,000 professionals across multiple continents and is a key member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Aneesh has a successful 25-plus-year record of accomplishments in healthcare, information technology and consulting. Previously he was the chief product and segment officer at Anthem, where his team drove end-to-end product strategy and product management, as well as growth strategies, for Anthem’s $42 billion/year commercial business. Aneesh led a team of 2,400 professionals and had profit-and-loss responsibility for individual, small group and large group markets. He has also held senior-level roles in enterprise strategy and product at Aetna and Cigna.
Aneesh is a serial entrepreneur, he entered the healthcare industry by starting AzulCare, a successful multi-specialty clinic. Later he founded and led Sheen Health, an innovative company focused on healthcare payments.
Aneesh holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS (EE) from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
James Haney is the CIO for Gainwell. In this role, he is responsible for establishing the company’s IT organization, strategic direction, and business-enabling systems as it proves itself an independent market leader. Jim leads initiatives to modernize, optimize and stand up the systems, processes and people strategically aligned to support the business. His focus is on adding new and innovative ideas to a strong foundation to help the company and its clients achieve better outcomes.
Jim brings depth of experience to Gainwell, including valuable lessons learned and best practices gained from his involvement in four major greenfield initiatives throughout his career. Most recently, he was senior vice president and CIO at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, responsible for providing overall IT vision and leadership. In that role, he led the stand-up of the IT organization and all its systems and infrastructure, enabling Ortho to operate as a standalone company. This involved planning and implementing enterprise IT systems, automating business processes and recruiting the required talent.
Jim’s more than 30-year career in information management and technology also includes overseeing worldwide IT and systems as CIO for companies such as Biomet and Harley-Davidson, and other roles in consulting, strategic planning, data center consolidation and IT transformation for various companies.
A graduate of University of Notre Dame, Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and electrical engineering. He has served on several advisory boards and boards of directors and is a speaker at vendor and industry events.
Sas Mukherjee, as CFO of Gainwell, applies an insightful approach comprehensively across the company’s people, processes and technology to deliver significant results. Sas provides objective perspectives to drive profitable growth, improve the client experience, build cohesive and high-performing teams, and deliver strong returns for stakeholders.
He is the primary link between Gainwell and its investors and lenders. Reporting to the CEO, Sas has a broad span of responsibilities — from all financial reporting and global back-office shared services operations to pricing, M&A, risk management and corporate services such as real estate, supply chain and travel.
Sas joined Gainwell from York Risk Services, an Onex Corp. portfolio company, where he was EVP, CFO and chief strategy officer. Brought in to lead the company’s turnaround, Sas responsibilities spanned across finance, pricing, treasury service for clients, real estate, procurement and strategy. His contribution to executing the transformation yielded notable improvements in the company’s performance.
Sas’ career includes global services positions, with an emphasis on technology and healthcare, serving Fortune 500 companies. Some highlights include stints at world-class companies such as Kaiser Permanente, PwC, Serco and portfolio companies of private equity firms such as Blackstone. He served in various C-suite roles in finance, strategy, sales and marketing, operations, as well as multiple positions as CEO, forming talented teams to lead companies through profitable growth, M&A, carve-out and divestiture, restructuring, and establishing lean Six Sigma and automation-enabled global shared service operations.
Sas serves on the boards of several non-profit and industry organizations, is a sought-after regular speaker at industry conferences and advises analyst firms and institutional investors.
Sas’ educational background focuses on finance and accounting, management and electrical engineering. He has lived in India, Singapore and Europe as well as U.S. East and West Coasts.
Steve Costalas is general counsel, responsible for leading Gainwell’s Legal, Contracts, Ethics and Compliance groups. His areas of focus include advising on contracts for new and existing clients, working side by side with program teams. Steve’s role also encompasses activities dealing with litigation, disputes and responses to government investigations. In the area of ethics and compliance, he ensures Gainwell has appropriate policies and procedures in place to address organizational and compliance issues.
Steve brings strategic and creative business advice to Gainwell, as well as experience with carve-out and spinoff initiatives. Before joining Gainwell, he was CEO at HVH Precision Analytics, a provider of advanced healthcare analytics. During his tenure, the company significantly grew its year-over-year revenue, expanded its offerings and customer base, and transitioned its analytics to a SaaS platform.
Before that, Steve was SVP and general counsel of Vencore, now Perspecta. His responsibilities included leading Vencore’s legal and ethics, corporate development, contracts, procurement and property management organizations. During Steve’s employ, the company significantly increased revenue and the breadth of its customers and offerings via acquisitions and organic growth.
Other career highlights include Steve’s position as counsel at international law firm Dechert, where he led teams structuring corporate acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments and complex collaborations, focusing on the life sciences industry. He also served as general counsel and head of corporate development of Pharmacopeia, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company.
Steve graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and from the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania. He regularly speaks and publishes on industry topics. Since 2015, he has served on the board of directors of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, a post-9/11 non-profit organization.
David Hadsell is the senior vice president of sales and account management. In this role, he leads account performance and business development activities for all clients at Gainwell.
Previously, David was vice president of U.S. Public Sector and Global Healthcare & Life Sciences. In this role he was responsible for Public Sector and Healthcare & Life Sciences industry revenue and growth initiatives across the company’s commercial and government markets.
David brings more than 30 years of experience supporting public sector and healthcare clients to Gainwell. Expertise gained throughout his career includes leading global transformation programs, client innovation and growth initiatives, and holding a variety of operations and sales leadership positions. Additionally, David has successfully developed business in the communications, finance, manufacturing, utilities and U.S. Federal Government business segments.
Prior to joining DXC in 2017, David was Vice President of U.S. Public Sector Sales for HP Enterprise Services, responsible for sales and business development in federal, state and local agencies. He also served as sales leader for the Consumer Industry and Retail/Energy market segments. David began his career at EDS as a leader in the Legal Affairs group, responsible for client management with U.S. federal agencies.
David graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in biology and psychology.
